Next highlight: Dresden Music Festival from 16 May

Posted on

Under the leadership of Jan Vogler, Dresden Music Festival has developed into a major innovative music festival with a focus on classical music. This year’s agenda, headlined “VISIONS”, features top international performers and ensembles, including City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Brad Meldau Trio, Staatskapelle Berlin & Daniel Barenboim, Chilly Gonzales or Hélène Grimaud.

Performances take place in various venues in the city, including Dresden’s famous baroque buildings such as Semperoper ond Church of Our Lady (Frauenkirche) or Schloss Wackerbarth, a beautiful wine estate on the Elbe river. There’s also a special “Musical City” day on 8 June: This initiative invites professional and amateur musicians – soloists, choirs, bands and orchestras – to join in and perform on the streets and squares of Dresden. Sounds good to us!
